Happy Halloween!!!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween.
Since we knew the girls would be loading up their bags with sugary treats, we decided to make some adult treats of our own.  I love caramel apples, but unfortunately they are terrible for your teeth and not the easiest thing to eat. I found this quick and easy recipe from Kraft for caramel dip and I have to say it’s just as good and so much easier to eat.
Creamy Caramel -Peanut Butter Dip
  • 2 or 3 apples
  • 25 Caramels
  • 2 tbl peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • chopped peanuts
  • mini chocolate chips

Melt the caramels, peanut butter and milk in the microwave for 2-3 minutes.

Loved this little snack, it was the perfect amount of sweetness! We had some left over so I dipped some pretzels, I think these were my fav!

Then it was off for Trick or Treating, our town moved it up from 6pm to 5pm and with Daylight Savings Time being pushed back a week I have to admit it was a little strange going out in the daylight. But nonetheless the girls had a great time!

After Kailey realized she was not going to win the battle with me over dressing as Lady Gaga, she decided to go as a hobo. She did a great job of pulling this look together all by herself, another reminder that she is growing up and I am getting old. lol

  6. I agree that caramel apples always stick to your teeth as pretty as they look. Giada just made a version that looked delicious but these look even better. Love that they're pre-sliced...and to use the extra caramel on pretzels is genius. Sweet + salty is the best combo! :D
