Surprise!

Holy cow where has the day gone?! Sorry this is going to be another quick post, getting back into school routine is tougher than I thought!  Teachers sure don’t wait to start shoveling out the homework!  Grrrr!
I have to tell you about my first run last night, it went great! Loved it and I am really looking forward to my next one. Don’t think I stretched enough because I was a little stiff this morning. One of the best parts about my run was, I had a surprise partner…my hubby! Not sure if he’s in it for the training or wants to keep me company but either way is a bonus for me! :D
Here we are after our first run last night!

It has been so hot here, my appetite has gone down the tubes! If it’s not water or fruit I don’t feel like eating. One more day of this heat and our temps will be down.  I am really looking forward to the fall with the cooler weather, hearty soups and baking with apples and pumpkin!  Mmmmm!!!
Breakfast and lunch were the same, cereal and yogurt with fruit and some granola. Dinner was fast and light, toasted ham sandwich with spinach and tomatoes with some veggies cut up.

I like my toast a little burnt….just sayin’ ;)
Do you like to run alone or with someone or a group?
I am off to hit the hay, hope everyone had a great day!
Did not intend for that to rhyme! lol
‘Night!

  2. Oh yay on getting to run with the hubby. I really enjoy when my husband and I get to run together, or even go to a spin class together.

  6. Glad your first run went so well! Nice work. I prefer to run with someone, it passes the time. I honestly don't know if I would have stuck with running if it hadn't been for the run club at the Y. Imagine 4 or 5 sweaty women, dishing about kids and family life, etc!
I do run on my own when I am working on pace and speed. That way I don't have to match my pace to anyone else's. But I'd rather run with someone for a long run!

  8. I have the world's best wogging partner. She goes as far (or as short of a distance) as I want, never complains and is always happy. The only downside is that she gets distracted by squirrels.

    my pup! :)

  9. Usually I run alone. It's nice to have some company though! I am hoping that as the husband's knee heals he'll be able to ride his bike along with me when I run. And I just joined a local running group last night!

  10. Congrats on your good runs!
To be honest, I'm not a runner. I've tried to convince myself I'll like if I start, but it hasn't worked. And that's okay. I'll stick with the workouts I enjoy!!!

    Good luck.

  11. I prefer to run alone, only because I like to have the "me" time. I do run with my husband sometimes, but he runs so much faster than me, which usually leaves me frustrated. But it is something we both enjoy and we run together at least once per week.

  13. Good job on the run! It must have been so nice to have company. I'm pretty sure nothing would convince my hubby to come out with me.

  16. Glad your first run went well!! Very exciting to start a new program off on a good note.
I prefer running alone - running is my time to go into this semi-meditative state and refresh, but occasionally I find it really fun and motivating to run with others.

  17. running with a partner can either be hit or miss for me. sometimes it's great because the other person really pushes me, but other times it can be disastrous because I over exert at the beginning. Good luck with the new plan, I always find that if I can get through about two weeks following the plan exactly, no skipped days, I get into a habit and have to get that scheduled work out in.

  18. I always liked to run alone, but I just ran a race with a couple friends and got my best time ever! There's a run/yoga combo class starting at my Y I may join because how awesome does that sound!? Keep up the good work!
