Ready or Not!

First of all I want to shout out a huge thank you to everyone that has encouraged and inspired me to start running. I have enjoyed reading all your comments and have taken everyone’s advice. Follow a program and start slow, just what I am going to do. Couch to 5k seems to be the most popular so that’s what I’ll be starting with tomorrow! Can’t wait to get started, I’m so excited and nervous! I know it’s going to be tough especially starting a new program the same week the kiddos are heading back to school and my daycare has started back up but I think I can manage to find 20 minutes and I’m hoping the energy will follow! I’ve put my Couch to 5k Plan on my Workout page, on a couple of  the rest days I will still be doing 30 Day Shred or video of some sort,  just because I really enjoy them! That is if I can walk, I can hardly walk from my run yesterday so I’m guessing I didn’t do enough stretching after wards! Live and learn, I suppose! ;) “Pain is fear leaving the body” Jillian Michaels. In my case I hope that’s true! lol
So for breakfast I had a bowl of mixed cereals and banana.
Lunch was yogurt, fruit and granola…forget to take a pic!
Afternoon snack was two Wasa multi grain crackers with Laughing Cow cheese, grapes and carrots!
Dinner was a delicious quesadilla! Here are some of the veggies…I cooked the red onion down slowly till they were a golden brown, nice and sugary! :D
I added some feta, leftover chicken from last night and sliced tomatoes.
Well tomorrow is the first day of school for my girls, 6th grade and 1st grade. They are excited and nervous and completely bummed that summer is over! I am expecting a lot of getting out of bed for water, belly aches and the like! :(

  1. Good for you for starting the program! We have some friends who just did their first 5K this weekend thanks to the program. Can't wait to hear about how it goes.

  2. Good for you! Listen, here's my story, to show you that you CAN do this. I was so not a runner. I was always active (hiking, walking) but never good at regular exercise. Then I had gestational diabetes with my last child, so I started walking a lot and making a commitment to regular exercise for good. I joined my local Y and a woman I got to know convinced me to join the running club. I did. And I found I could really do it. Suddenly, I was running 4 miles easily, then 6. I did my first half-marathon back in May, and have another scheduled for October.
And I only started running last February! I am now a serious runner, I do it at least 3 times a week and I get such a high from it.

You can do this. Keep us posted!

  3. Whoo Hoo!! You are awesome, and I can't wait to hear about the progress!!

Good luck to the girls tomorrow!! LOL @ the many "tummy aches"

  4. the quesadilla looks delish! Hope your kids have great first weeks of school. I remember those days like it was yesterady!

  5. good luck on the C25K girl! you're going to rock it :)

  6. Can't wait to hear what you thin of Couch to 5K!

Good for you for committing to it! :)

  7. Ah I used to get so nervous/excited for the first day of school (even in college!) Do they have "special" outfits picked out?
The Couch to 5k plan sounds great - can't wait to see how you like it!

  8. I'm excited to follow your 5K plan - I've heard a lot of great things about the program!
